WHAT HAPPENED?
The highly-rated youngster completed a move to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024 after turning 18. He headed to Spain aware that he would face fierce competition for places from the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Endrick has registered two goals for the Blancos through 10 appearances, but is still waiting on a first La Liga start and has been restricted to just 54 minutes of game time in the Spanish top-flight. That has led to suggestions that he could be sent out on loan.

Premier League teams, including Tottenham, are said to have asked about Endrick after seeing him make his way to Europe. According to , Southampton are now in the mix as they seek attacking inspiration in a relegation dogfight.

It is also claimed that Roma, who now have Claudio Ranieri at the helm, would welcome the opportunity to hand the talented teenager minutes in Serie A. Real Valladolid are another option that would allow Endrick to remain in Spanish football.
Sheffield Wednesday are very much attempting to get the old band back together this summer when it comes to their transfer dealings in through the door, with former loan star Ike Ugbo near the top of their extensive shopping list.
A move for the former Chelsea youth striker to sign on the dotted line could well be on the cards, but there's one reunion that has been stopped in its tracks now, involving fellow ex-loanee Ian Poveda.
Leeds forward Ian Poveda.
The South American attacker opted to join Sunderland over returning to South Yorkshire, but Danny Rohl and Co won't want be too downbeat for too long about the former Leeds United man turning down the chance to come back to the Owls, knowing they have another attacking star at their disposal already.
Anthony Musaba's time at Sheffield Wednesday
It's fair to say Anthony Musaba was a slow burner when first donning an Owls strip, with plenty of intrigue in the air after he initially joined under the doomed tenure of Xisco Munoz, having previously played for AS Monaco.
The 23-year-old forward would only score one Championship goal under the Spaniard's terrible reign in charge, before coming into his own under the far more popular German, as the goals started to flow more easily – having subsequently been hailed as a "weapon" by his manager.
Sheffield Wednesday forward Anthony Musaba.
He would finish his 2023/24 campaign with eight total goals next to his name, with a mini purple patch of vital strikes and assists towards the back end of the topsy-turvy season for Wednesday as a whole allowing his side to keep their heads above water come the final match day.
Therefore, everyone with connections to the South Yorkshire titans will be hoping their electric number 45 has even more up his sleeve this season, as the Owls aim to make strides in the division as opposed to battling towards the foot of the league again.
Poveda, on the other hand, never really consistently delivered in terms of output for Rohl's men during his short stay, with Musaba's value far higher than his ex-Leeds counterpart's as a result, according to Football Transfers.
Musaba's transfer value at Wednesday
Wednesday fans would have wanted to see Poveda back in their beloved blue and white stripes purely to see what Rohl could get out of him over a full season, with zero goals registered by the diminutive winger last season in South Yorkshire, despite showing signs of his trickery and flair on the ball.
As stated, Musaba managed to bag eight strikes in all competitions on the contrary, which is two times more than what Poveda has managed to tally up across his up-and-down time in the men's game in total, having also previously been on the roster of Manchester City as a fresh-faced youngster.

Looking at the table above, Poveda's value of £337k pales into insignificance lined up next to Musaba's bumper £1.6m price tag, with the ex-AS Monaco attacker also sweeping the floor with the new Sunderland recruit in terms of their head-to-head numbers.
Poveda will just hope he can shine at Sunderland away from failing to spark in life at his previous clubs, which could end up in his value shooting up subsequently.
Back at Hillsborough, however, and Rohl will hope Musaba can be equally as crucial this coming season alongside the barrage of new signings strengthening the side, with Wednesday aiming to shock the Championship top spots as a surprise package.

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?
Reynolds did not join revellers for the Red Dragons’ latest triumph, but was likely watching on from afar. He has seen Phil Parkinson’s side cement their second-place standing in League One – with only two points separating them from table-topping Wycombe.
Nottingham Forest are set to be one of the busier Premier League sides in the final weeks of the summer transfer window as they line up a mammoth five new signings, according to one reliable journalist.
Quiet summer for Nottingham Forest
So far, this summer has been one of consolidation rather than addition for Nuno Espírito Santo and co. at the City Ground. They have been able to keep hold of key duo Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo after their financial fair play fears were eased by the sale of Moussa Niakhate to Lyon.
Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White
Meanwhile, their squad is beginning to take shape after two hectic seasons that has seen them make close to 50 transfers since their promotion to the top flight back in 2022. They have added Elliot Anderson in a deal worth £35m, which was considered a market opportunity given Newcastle's own FFP concerns.
They have also replaced Niakhate with Nikola Milenkovic, who had previously been linked with Manchester United but has now moved to the Midlands in a £12m deal. Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel arrived in a £3.3m move, alongside young duo Eric Moreira and Marko Stamenic, who were signed from Red Star and FC St Pauli respectively.

But much of the squad retains the same look as it did for the final game of the 2023-24 campaign. Now though, that seems set to change.
Forest set for late summer splurge
That comes as reliable reporter John Percy claims that as many as five new signings (and perhaps more) could find their way to the City Ground between now and the end of the transfer window in a month's time.
"Forest will look to make further additions", he reports, with the "priority" being "two wingers, a forward, a left-back and another goalkeeper" between now and the end of the transfer window.
They have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace no.2 Sam Johnstone, while recent reports have also credited them with eyeing up an opportunistic move for Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale.

As it stands though, only one deal is close. That comes in the form of winger Ramos Sosa, with Percy adding that "a £10 million deal" for the Paraguayan winger is "understood to be the next potential incoming" at the City Ground.
Still just 24-years-old, Sosa has been described as "an excellent ball carrier" who "can drag his team up the pitch as well prove rather useful on the counter" by South American football journalist Nathan Joyes on X.
His arrival would help provide cover and competition to exciting pair Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, both of whom have proved adept in doing just that since their moves to the Midlands 12 months ago.
For Forest, it appears that the transfer window is only just getting underway, and there could be plenty more to come before the deadline.
After Chelsea confirmed the arrival of Pedro Neto on Sunday afternoon, introducing him to the Stamford Bridge faithful at half-time against Inter, it looked a pretty pleasant time to be a Blue.
Todd Boehly was also on the verge of concluding a deal to bring Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion to the Bridge.
Yet, just a matter of hours later the deal was as dead as a dodo. David Ornstein reported that a 'major problem' when it came to the player's contract had jeopardised a move and he would now not head to London.
Omorodion could still head to England but it's unlikely to be in the direction of Chelsea, with the Atleti striker reportedly now offered to the likes of Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
Chelsea's main Omorodion alternative
Victor Osmihen has been the name on many lips this summer, not just at Chelsea but throughout the footballing world.
He's been an option for teams in Saudi, PSG have looked at him and Arsenal are also allegedly in the conversation to beat Chelsea to his signature.
However, with a proposed £109m price tag in the offing, a deal looks tricky to complete.
As a result, the transfer team in west London are heading back to Madrid in an attempt to prise away another forward; Joao Felix.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese has already said yes to a move and it's now up to Boehly and Co to decide whether they want to proceed with a move.
Felix has already had one spell at Chelsea during the second half of the 2022/23 season where he played 20 times and scored four goals.
During his stint in the Premier League, the 24-year-old played in a variety of positions, namely as an attacking midfielder or centre-forward, occupying somewhat of a false 9 role.
His replacement that summer after he left? A certain Cole Palmer. How he has exploded since leaving Manchester City behind.
Cole Palmer's transfer value in 2024
Felix wasn't totally convincing during his loan spell at the club and as a result, Mauricio Pochettino didn't seek a permanent deal.
Palmer was one man who arrived to fill the void and he did that in remarkable fashion. Hailed as a "fantastic" player by club icon Joe Cole, the former Man City star emulated Chelsea greats Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba during a breakthrough campaign for the now England international.
The 22-year-old scored a whopping 25 goals in 45 outings, also supplying 15 assists in that time. It's safe to say not signing Felix was a good decision on that evidence.
It was a campaign that subsequently saw Palmer's transfer value explode. Signed for a fee of £40m he is now estimated to be worth around £69m by Transfermarkt.
Cole Palmer in-article graphic
How does Chelsea's new transfer target compare? Well, the Portugal international could head back to English football in a deal worth £43m according to reports. That's a fraction more than the £38m Omorodion was set to join for.
Considering a deal to sign the Atleti forward has fallen apart, Felix would be a solid alternative but he doesn't touch Palmer when it comes to output.

This decision aims to provide newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim with extra funds to reshape the squad while complying with current Financial Fair Play rules.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Rashford, who signed a lucrative new five-year contract in the summer of 2023, has struggled to replicate his past form. The 27-year-old's performance declined drastically last season as he managed to score just eight goals in all competitions. The current campaign began with high hopes for a resurgence, but they soon faded away and he has netted just four times in 15 appearances so far in 2024-25.

Rashford found himself benched during back-to-back Premier League defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. However, when he was brought on with half an hour still to play in both matches, the forward failed to capitalise on the opportunity and remained an anonymous figure on the pitch as the Red Devils dropped more valuable points.

WHAT NEXT FOR RASHFORD?
Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) may be interested in acquiring the forward but no concrete development has taken place so far. Time is running out for Rashford to reestablish himself as a cornerstone of United’s attack. The immediate future is critical and he must aim to prove his worth in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen. Additionally, the highly anticipated derby against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday provides an opportunity for Rashford to make a decisive impact. Strong performances in these matches could reignite faith in his abilities and potentially alter his uncertain trajectory.
With the first half of the campaign almost wrapped up, GOAL is on hand to run through the new arrivals who have made the biggest impact
Almost £2 billion ($2.5bn) was splashed on new players across the 20 clubs in the Premier League during the summer of 2024, a number slightly down on the record-breaking 2023 window, but still comfortably the second-highest transfer spend in the competition's history. The biggest deal of the window came at Tottenham, who lured Dominic Solanke away from Bournemouth for £65 million ($82m), while Chelsea signed Wolves winger Pedro Neto for £54m ($68m), Amadou Onana joined Aston Villa from Everton for £50m ($63m) and Manchester United spent the same amount on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
All of those players have impressed at their new clubs, to varying degrees, but none have set the world alight. There have also been plenty of transfers that could already be considered complete flops, like Joao Felix's £45m ($57m) return to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, West Ham's £27m ($34m) capture of Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug, and Federico Chiesa's bizarre £10m ($13m) move to Liverpool from Juventus.
The players that have stood out the most haven't all been among the most expensive. In fact, several can now be described as bargains, having delivered performances far exceeding their market value, which goes some way to explaining why the table looks so tight at the midway point of the campaign.
GOAL has ranked the 10 best signings of the 2024-25 campaign so far, and it's full of surprising names. The question is: who has come out on top? Find out below…

10Iliman Ndiaye (Everton) – £15m ($20m)
Everton's decision to sign former Sheffield United star Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille is already paying off, with the 24-year-old looking right at home in English football once again. Ndiaye was electrifying in the Championship for the Blades, and has been similarly influential in the Premier League, albeit without scoring as many goals.
The Senegal international only has two to his name from 15 appearances for Everton so far, which is mainly because Sean Dyche has predominantly used him on the left wing instead of as a No.10. Despite that, he's still managed to become an instant fan favourite.
Ndiaye drags the Toffees up the pitch at every opportunity, always showing impeccable balance and control despite carrying the ball at great speed, with former Everton defender Phil Jagielka recently comparing him to a futsal player. Ndiaye thrives in one-on-one situations and his link-up play is top-notch, while he is also one of the hardest workers in the team off the ball.
Everton have admirably recovered from a poor start to the season, and with Ndiaye giving them an X-factor in the final third, Dyche's team really should be aiming for a top-half finish.

9Georginio Rutter (Brighton) – £40m ($51m)
Brighton smashed their transfer record to sign Georginio Rutter from Leeds, with head coach Fabian Hurzeler describing him as a forward with the "capabilities to get fans off their seats." He has so far lived up to that billing, striking up a strong understanding with Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro that has reaped great rewards for the Seagulls as they have re-emerged as contenders for European qualification.
Rutter has only scored twice and laid on three assists, but he's been a constant menace with his mesmerising dribbling and incisive passing, and has also been crucial to Brighton's counter-press. “He's a guy who doesn't need goals to believe in himself and I think he has had a great impact," Hurzeler said in October.
Rutter has brought versatility to the Seagulls' attack and at just 22 years of age, there is still so much more to come from the Frenchman.
Getty Images Sport
8Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace) – £15m ($20m)
Palace endured a nightmare start to the campaign after losing a host of key players, including Michael Olise, Joachim Andersen and Jordan Ayew. It took a while for their new signings to adapt, including Andersen replacement Maxence Lacroix, who was one of the standout centre-backs in the Bundesliga last season at Wolfsburg.
Lacroix is now starting to make a similar impact in the Premier League, though, playing in the heart of a three-man defence alongside Marc Guehi and Trevor Chalobah. Saturday's 5-1 home defeat to Arsenal was a major setback for the Eagles, but they'd only lost one of their previous nine games across all competitions, with Lacroix even pitching in with a fine goal in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
The Frenchman is among the fastest players in the league, which makes him almost impossible to dribble past, has a high footballing IQ and rarely misplaces a pass. Lacroix has claimed that "teams fear playing Palace" despite their low position in the table, and it's hard to argue. His commanding presence alone makes Oliver Glasner's side formidable opponents, and they should comfortably avoid the drop if he keeps improving at such a rapid rate.

7Jadon Sancho (Chelsea) – loan
Jadon Sancho is one worst signings in Manchester United's history, which was confirmed when Chelsea signed the winger on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of August. United paid £73m ($92m) to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, and he never came close to justifying that fee, failing to even earn a regular place in the starting XI amid a series of fallouts with the club's former manager Erik ten Hag.
But there has never been any doubts over his talent. A confident Sancho can be a major asset for any team, which he proved by playing a vital role in Dortmund's run to the Champions League final after returning to the club on loan last season. He has continued in a similar vein at Stamford Bridge, recording five goal contributions in 11 Premier League appearances.
Sancho has been in and out of the team under Enzo Maresca due to the huge strength in depth Chelsea have in attack, but he's looked back to his dazzling best when he has played, most notably in a thrilling 4-3 win at Tottenham that saw him run Pedro Porro ragged, and could earn a recall to the England squad if he continues on his current trajectory.
Talk about emphatic. Tottenham Hotspur defeated Everton in their first Premier League match on home turf this season to remind the division that Ange Postecoglou means business.
Everton were hit for four but in truth, the hosts' spoils could have been greater, bringing a high-intensity game that suffocated Sean Dyche's side.
Ange Postecoglou and James Maddison celebrate
There were so many impressive performances, but Heung-min Son will be especially pleased with his goalscoring return to centre-forward, with £65m summer signing Dominic Solanke ruled out after injuring his ankle in training this week.
Heung-min Son puts Solanke worries to bed
Solanke scored 21 goals across 42 matches in all competitions last season for Bournemouth last season, with his physical and prolific presence convincing Spurs that he is the man to belatedly replace Harry Kane.
Son ensured that his side were not left rueing missed chances with a trademark display at the front of the ship, scoring in both halves to emphasise his acumen as one of the Premier League's finest forwards.
Should Solanke be unable to perform next week against Newcastle United at St. James' Park, fans will rest assured knowing their captain has found his Midas touch early on, but perhaps greater comfort can be found in the formidable defensive display, with Cristian Romero the cream of the crop.
Cristian Romero's performance vs Everton
Romero put the cherry on the cake with his headed strike after 77 minutes, outmuscling James Tarkowski to open his account, but his redoubtable performance at the rear was the real highlight.
He might have a reckless streak but the 26-year-old is breathtaking when on his a-game, so strong, so imposing, so technically proficient.
Micky van de Ven was also in fine fettle as Spurs overpowered the troubled Toffees, but as the table below will show you, Romero was clearly the star performer on the day, coining his imperious display with a goal.

Romero was far more aggressive and far more assertive, taking more touches than anyone else on the field and producing the kind of all-encompassing performance that proves his worth as one of the world's finest defenders.
Football.london's Alasdair Gold was certainly impressed, handing the Argentina international a 9/10 match rating and writing: 'His 100th game and after an early misplaced pass he volleyed a shot at Pickford and then picked out Maddison with a great ball over the top. Took an elbow to the stomach in that first half but marked his milestone performance with a powerful header in off the crossbar with 20 minutes to go.'

There's a long way to go before Tottenham can reach their seasonal goals, but Postecoglou has got his team gushing with swagger at this early stage – and it might just be sustained throughout the year if Romero continues to play as he did today.
Scouts sent: Spurs target £15kp/w "engine" who has shades of Mousa Dembele
Sunderland entered into a new era against Burnley last weekend, knowing that Jack Clarke's move to Ipswich Town was about to be officially sealed.
Up stepped Romaine Mundle in his place to become the new Black Cats hero from down the left wing, helping himself to the only goal of the contest versus Scott Parker's Burnley, to dent the Clarets' 100% record in the Championship and keep his side's one still very much in-tact.
Regis Le Bris for Lorient.
Regis Le Bris will hope he can count on Mundle to delivers the good again and again this season to come, in the absence of their star-man moving on to the Tractor Boys, with a new attacking partner in the works for the former Tottenham Hotspur man too.
Sunderland bid for in-demand Premier League striker
According to journalist John Percy, Sunderland have put a bid in of £5m to try and lure Leicester City striker Thomas Cannon to the Stadium of Light, before Friday's deadline.
Le Bris' men aren't alone in their interest of the wantaway Foxes figure, however, as Stoke City, Norwich City and Sheffield United all also remain keen on landing the ex-Preston North End man to bolster their own attacks, as per Percy.
With all news going radio silent on Sunderland attempting to secure Alexandre Mendy's services, this new development coming to light indicates that Cannon is now their main target, with Mundle potentially coming into his own even more lining up next to the previously prolific 21-year-old.
What Cannon can offer Sunderland
Away from already fitting into the Sunderland group as a young and hungry gem who can grow and develop more under Le Bris' watchful eye, Cannon – who was dubbed "incredible" by pundit Dean Ashton last year – would give the early Championship pace-setters a deadly finisher in-front of goal too, to rival the likes of Eliezer Mayenda currently leading the line.
Cannon has netted ten goals from 33 second-tier appearances to date across his fledging senior career, having initially made a name for himself in Everton youth circles as a potent striker, scoring a ridiculous 51 strikes from 97 U18 and U21 appearances, before leaving Goodison Park permanently behind.

Adding Cannon to the first-team mix at Sunderland could, therefore, make the Wearside outfit even more of a tricky team to keep tabs on for opposition defenders, with Mundle regularly bamboozling the Burnley defence last time out, as can be seen looking at the table above.
Alongside finding the back of the net, with five shots peppering James Trafford's net just from Mundle alone, the impressive Black Cats number 14 was also attempting to create openings for his teammates all afternoon, with a striker of Cannon's quality perhaps finishing off a chance crafted by Mundle if he was on the pitch.
Playing his part in Leicester's title triumph last season, even with only three starts handed to him in the league, the £8k-per-week target – as per Capology – would jump at the opportunity to lead the line as Sunderland's main man next campaign, with Mundle equally raring to be a starter week in week out, after struggling for game-time last season after joining in January, owing to Clarke's concrete status in the line-up.
With Clarke now gone, the ex-Spurs youngster could well have a breakout season to come in the Championship, alongside Cannon aiming to show to Leicester that they have made a big error getting rid, as Sunderland potentially eye up a return to the Premier League.
